Tuesday, 8 October 2019 09:28:19 Europe/London

If you are having a hard time deciding which type of rug to buy? what size? and color etc? Then you have come to the right place as we are going to discuss few points you need to keep in mind before buying the rugs.

What size?

The right size of the rug is where you can fit all your furniture over it. Since the Handmade Rugs have no exact fixture of size standards like in machine made rugs, best to make sure you take exact measurements before getting the Rug Size

If you are buying it for your dining room, then make sure that you have enough size for the table and also for when the chairs are open. You dont want the chairs to be getting off the rug when you pull them out to use them.

Durability

Wool and Cotton have been the best material and most durable so far. Hand tufted and machine made rugs will not last longer. However, the Handmade rugs are constructed carefully with lot of time and effort, making them to last for 80 to 100 years.

Whereas, the machine made rugs will last maximum of 20 years depending on the quality of material used in them.

Pile and No Pile Rug

One more thing you must have notices is that some rugs are thicker than the others, that is called the pile size. Pile under quarter is low, quarter to half inch is medium and over half inch is plush.

Plush size would look good in a bedroom or could also be with your furniture in case you are looking for something luxurious. But having bigger pile size does not means quality though, the piles can be thin.

Pattern

The pattern on the rugs make all the difference and design. You need to take the size of pattern in consideration as well, as too big or too small pattern may not complement your furniture or the room.

Color

Some of the Handmade rugs have multi-color scheme, and some are focused on one color as main focus, and other colors as background. In case you have color neutral furniture, its better to get a rug that is sharp and shows colors. However, if you have specific color of your furniture, then it is best to match or contrast the color of your Rug with the furniture.

Which color do you think is the best for Living Room Carpets? Answer in the comments below.
